Maren Rosenberg
Co-Artistic Director
Maren is a Jewish American theatermaker based in Chicago. Starting in 2009 she has been closely connected with the Palestinian theater and arts scene. While in Chicago Maren has worked as a company member with Halcyon Theatre, a physical theater divisor with Chicago DanzTheatre Ensemble, a teaching artist with Beverly Art Center, and a new play workshopper with The Mammals. She is the owner and creator of Escape Artistry and was the former executive producer of Room Escape Adventures, the first room escape company in Chicago.
Maren received a BFA (with honors) in Acting and Theater Arts from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She has also studied with Second City in Chicago, and at BADA in London. Maren is represented by Ambassador Talent.
Maren has appeared on Palestinian television and has been seen on stage across the West Bank and in East Jerusalem. Maren worked for Sharia SimSim (Palestinian Sesame Street), and co-produced productions of Fugards 'The Island' (with Fulbright Scholar) while working as the International Artistic Associate at Inad Theatre.
While living in Palestine (West Bank) Maren was deeply affected by the community she lived in. She realized that the humanity of Palestinians' stories are not adequately available to the American theater audience, and felt a responsibility to communicate her experiences through the medium she is closest to theater.
